“And David said to him, Fear not: for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father's sake, and will restore you all the land of Saul your father; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.”  2 Samuel 9:7

Life must have looked pretty dim for Mephibosheth after the death of his grandfather Saul and father Jonathan.  He was forced to leave the palace and was taken to a secret place to live for fear that David would have him killed also.   But the day came when he was finally found.  Not only found by King David but summoned to the palace.  That must have been a very scary day.  But, Mephibosheth was not thrown in jail or killed but blessed. King David told Ziba, who was Saul’s slave, that he would now serve Mephibosheth and his family and he told Mephibosheth that he would eat at the King's table from now on.  “Ziba replied, “Yes, my lord the king, I am your servant, and I will do all that you have commanded.”  And from that time on, Mephibosheth ate regularly at David’s table, like one of the king’s own sons.” (2 Sam 9:11)

Isn’t that just like our Lord!  The past is forgotten!  Blessings are our future!  A place at the King's table from now on!

God sees beyond what we see and He will not steer us wrong.  The future is always bright.  We, like Mephibosheth, have been given all that is our Father’s.  We are even righteous with His righteousness!  (2 Cor 5:21)

If life happens to look a little dim, remember that your seat is at the King’s table and because of Jesus, your past is forgotten and your future is full of blessings!  God sees beyond what we see and He will not steer us wrong.
