1 Corinthians 1:26-32
(The Message)
Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t see many of “the brightest and the best” among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these “nobodies” to expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”? That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God. Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have the saying, “If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God.”

Once you become a child of God you became:
Righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Healed (1 Peter 2:24)
Strong (Psalms 118:14)
Justified (1 Corinthians 6:11)
Prosperous (2 Corinthians 8:9)
Royal (1 Peter 2:9)
Wise (1 Corinthians 2:16)
Blessed (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Before Christ, well... that's a different story!
Paul says in verse 26, "Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life." Before Christ, we had to work!  Now we get to rest and receive all He has already accomplished for us!  We now have a clean slate!
Whatever failure or setback you may have had- it's in the past!  You are now a NEW creation, a royal priesthood.
Know that Jesus qualifies you.  Whatever it is you need or desire, He has it- and you don't have to earn it.  He already provided it.
