"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5

We ARE the branches.  That’s good news, that’s great news!  It doesn't say that we have to work to become the branches.  We ARE the branches.

One of my favorite verses is 2 Cor 5:21 “For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”  It’s not hard to believe that we ARE the branches when the Living Word also says that we are righteous!  We are righteous through Jesus who is the vine.

So what does it mean to be the branches?  It means that as Christians we can expect to bear effortless fruit as long as we are abiding in Him, The Vine. The Vine does the Work. What fruit can you expect to be bearing?  Everything you need for an abundant life!  Joy, peace, health, prosperity, patience, kindness, love!  Everything you need has already been provided, our part is to simply receive by faith His righteousness and to remain in Him.
