“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:17

When you are having “one of those days” or weeks, does God’s Word and God’s promises come up within you?  When you feel somewhat overwhelmed, do you head for a room, even if it’s the bathroom, to be alone with the Lord for a moment, throw your arms up and start praising and speaking the Word?  Things like, "I will not fret or be anxious about anything, but in ALL things, I will praise and bring my requests to you" (Phil 4:6).  "You bless me and surround me with favor as with a shield" (Psalms 5:12).  "I am MORE than a conqueror through Him who loves me" (Rom 8:37).  "The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in ME" (Rom 8:11). "I have life abundant, to the full, overflowing because of Jesus" (John 10:10).  "I will not be dominated by my emotions!"  "I can manage my thinking because I have Jesus living IN me!"

The more you hear God’s Word, the more you change!   The word of God is alive, active and powerful (Heb 4:12)!  Because it’s alive, when you read it, speak it and meditate on it, saying a verse over and over, applying it to your situation, things change!  You change!  You can then rest in God and resting in Him is what He wants you to do (Heb 4:3).

The more you hear and speak the Word, your faith arises.  Don’t look to yourself to get faith, keep on hearing!  Read The Word every day.  Read it like a book that you enjoy.  Ask the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct you.  Use your phone and listen to good gospel preaching podcasts.  Listen to Christian music.  Allyson can give suggestions for both of those.  There are a lot of ways!
The living Word changes things, so use it!

Keep hearing and rest,
Lori Rola
