“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
Isaiah 43:2

The story of Daniel’s three friends who refused to bow and worship the king's golden image is in the book of Daniel 3:10-30.  The King who was “in his rage and fury” said that if they didn’t, they would be cast into the burning fiery furnace.   They said, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty's hand.” (Dan 3:17)

Daniel and his friends were all captives taken from Jerusalem.  They grew up reading Isaiah and knew that the Lord would save them from the fire.  They believed and were not afraid to stand on it.

The king was so mad, he had the fire made seven times hotter than usual.  The fire was so hot, that the men who threw the friends in, were burned and died.  The three friends, however, not only did not burn, but they were able to fellowship while in there with Jesus.  The king said  "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods." (Dan 3:25)  Wow!

There is another verse in Isaiah, Isaiah 53:5 that we should stand on and believe the way Daniel’s friends did.  “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed.”

Today, believe that through Jesus, we are made righteous, our transgressions are gone!  Through Jesus and his stripes, we are healed!

Many blessings,
