After reading Hebrews 11, the faith hall of fame. Hebrews 11:5 says, "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God"...
I decided to go back to the old testament to read about Enoch, I mean, he must've been pretty excellent if he made it into the faith hall of fame! So what is it that Enoch did?
Did he build an ark? Lead a people out of Egypt? Believe for a son in his old age? Enoch didn't do any of those things...
Genesis 5:24 says, "And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."
It was Enoch's faith that pleased God, Enoch walked with God. Enoch was God's friend. It doesn't seem like he did anything out of the ordinary, he just had faith to walk with God.
You see, it's our faith that pleases God! Maybe you haven't started a mega church, been to a foreign country, spoken to millions, but you have faith. It's your faith that pleases Him!
Maybe one day you'll have a huge ministry, but today, before you see the promise of God fulfilled in your life, God is pleased with you! He is pleased because of your faith!
Hebrews 11:23
"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful."

I really like this song because the words say, "find me grateful, find me thankful, find me on my knees".  It's not about splitting a sea or leading a generation out of Egypt, it's just about being with Jesus.  That's what pleases Him.
