Pride, is it good or bad?
Most people would say that a certain amount of pride, is a good thing. Several years ago, while visiting my parents, I found this little blue book, only 56 pages, by Andrew Wommack, so I sat down and read it. Wow! It left me with a lot to think about. The title is “Self-Centeredness: The Root of All Grief”. I didn’t recognize it before, but sure enough, I had it, pride/self-centeredness. Satan, the deceiver, made it look good, something that was justifiable, but it’s not, it’s sin and it causes a lot of pain, heartache, and consequences. “Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.” (Prov 13:10) Are you experiencing any strife, bitterness, hurt, or anger? Circumstances cannot be blamed, and it’s not just part of your personality. It’s pride. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Eph 4:32) The Lord would not ask you to do something you can’t do. In Him, you have the power to forgive and walk in love with ALL people. Your boss, coworkers, spouse, parents, children, relatives, neighbors, people in the cars ahead, beside or behind you, yes, ALL people. You’ve been given the ability and Jesus, our perfect example, did it, so no more excuses. Blessings, Lori Rola
