I was walking this morning and admiring a flower garden.  As I got closer, I saw all the grass and weeds that have been growing and spreading around the flowers.  The garden has not had any attention at all this year.  As pretty as it is, it won’t stay that way if the weeds are allowed to continue.  They will take over!  They need to be pulled out!

That’s how it is with sin in our life.  Self-centeredness, anger, unforgiveness, hurt, bitterness, an occasional swear word, gossip.  They start out small and insignificant, or so they seem.  The Deceiver does not want us to think much of it and attend to it.  “It’s not that bad.”  If not addressed, it will grow and spread.  Not overnight, but just like weeds, slowly but surely.

You know it’s there, the Holy Spirit does not condemn you, He shows you.  That’s when it's time to activate your faith by coming and knowing that you can come, into the very throne room of God.  If you do feel condemned, it ‘s the Accuser.  That’s when you can say “yep, I did that, I sure did, but it was recorded two thousand years ago that that was taken care of, so I don’t have to suffer.  I am redeemed, forever more!   “For he has made him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us; that we might be MADE (not become)  the righteousness of God in him.”  (2 Cor 5:21)
