1 John 4:19
We love because He first loved us.

Every morning my dad sends out a devotional to our family.  Yesterday morning's (appropriate for Valentine's Day) was on love.  He included 1 Corinthians 13, a very popular chapter that talks about what love looks like.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 says,
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
As Christians, this love should just pour out of us naturally.
Because we serve a God who loved us first.
He loves us so much that He sent His son to die for us.
He gained the victory for us!  He conquered death for us!
Now, we can live victorious lives.  Now, we can love like He loves.

Happy Valentine's Day, friends! (a day late)
