The Lord keeps bringing me back to John 9.  Possibly because I feel like I can really relate to that blind man.  I love when he says, "I cannot say whether he is a sinner or not, but one thing I do know is that once I was blind but now I see!"
As I read through the story again last night I noticed something.  The blind man didn't know who Jesus was prior to meeting him, actually, he didn't know who Jesus was even after he got healed- he just knew he was healed!
In John 9:6 Jesus spits on the ground and makes clay, he then anointed the eyes of the blind man with that clay.  At that point, the man was still blind... Can you imagine?
Jesus then tells him to go and wash in the pool of Siloam.  It says, "The man (the blind man) went there and RETURNED seeing!"
Let me ask you, are you at the point in your life where you are so desperate to get healed that you would allow someone to rub mud on your eyes and then trust him enough to go down and wash it off.  It wasn't until after he washed that his sight was restored.
I remember when I was still bald, if a prophet came to me and rubbed dirt on my head and then told me to wash it off, I would have done it!  I wanted to be healed SO badly, I probably would've done almost anything.  That blind man had nothing to lose, he was already blind, by following this man he would either stay blind or just maybe he would receive his sight!
If you're sick, you have nothing to lose by following Jesus.  It's a win-win.  Either you get healed- like the Bible says- or you stay sick.
BUT I can guarantee you- the Word is truth and it tells us that BY HIS STRIPES we ARE HEALED.  Maybe you won't see it manifest right away, but let's both take a lesson from the blind man and trust Jesus enough to allow Him to heal us.
