Receipt
Wednesday, December 21, 2016Romans 4:7-8 Mirror Bible “Oh what happy progress one makes with the weight of sin and guilt removed and one’s slate wiped clean! How blessed is the one who receives a receipt instead of an invoice for their sins.”
What a gift we received from our Lord! Sin AND guilt removed! Slate wiped clean! A receipt instead of an invoice! Eternal life! Life to the full, here on earth and in eternity, John 10:10. I especially like the part about the guilt. Satan likes to remind us of things or point things out. Feeling guilty is not from God. He see’s the slate wiped clean. He see’s the receipt, the finished works of Jesus.
When you look at your Christmas receipts remember the greatest receipt/gift that was ever given and YOU are the reciprocal of it, the gift of Jesus! “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Cor 9:15 “In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor,” Eph 1:7
Christ lives in us and we have been redeemed through His blood. We are righteous with God’s righteousness! 2 Cor 5:21 That is an indescribable gift!
Many blessings,
