Psalms 91
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

The word of God is alive and active!  It is a powerful weapon that we need to take up against the enemy.

Last night at work I was serving at a banquet, I had to wheel two large (banquet sized) commercial coffee urns over to the room where the banquet was being held.  I started wheeling the cart down the hall and when I went to turn one of the coffee's came crashing down.  I tried to catch them both and managed to grab one and just missed the second one.  There was a loud crash and coffee was everywhere...everywhere except on me...  I was wearing a skirt with nothing on my legs and a white button up shirt.  When my boss ran out of the kitchen to see what was going on he instructed me to "go clean up in the bathroom!"  I kept looking at him confused and then finally went to the bathroom to "clean up".  The thing is, there wasn't any coffee on me to clean up.  Not one spot on my white shirt, not one spot on my shoes, not one spot on my legs.  I had a little spot on my black skirt, but you couldn't even see it.  I stood in the bathroom thinking, "I don't see anything I need to clean.."
Later my boss told me that the coffee was 200 degrees.  He asked me what my story was and we went on to talk about Jesus, healing, and how faithful God is!

Psalms 91:11-12 says, "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone"
When I got home and told my family what had happened I was reminded that my angels were there and that I was protected from being burned.  We have something the world needs, we have divine protection!  We do not have to live in fear, we can live worry-free, abundant lives.
