In Matthew 1:1-16, four women are listed in the genealogy of Jesus.  You would think that Sarah, Rebekah, and Rachel would be on that list as they are the wives of some Bible patriarchs.  Instead, you find Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and Bathsheba.  All four have some interesting backgrounds.

Tamar deceived her father-in-law through prostitution.  Rehab was a Gentile AND a prostitute in Jericho.  She became a believer and was the mother of Boaz who married Ruth.  Ruth was also a Gentile, a Moabitess so she was considered unclean.  She is the grandmother of King David.  Bathsheba committed adultery with King David, but later gave birth to King Solomon whose royal line Jesus came from.

“Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits--who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,”   His grace IS GREATER than our sins!!  It does not matter what we have done, His grace is greater!

Our situations do NOT have the final say!  He can turn them around for His honor and glory!  Trust God who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion!

Blessings,
