“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:5
I have been thinking about taking captive EVERY thought, to make it obedient to Christ. Ever let your mind wander and find yourself thinking not so good thoughts? Am I really righteous?
Ever think to yourself that thoughts don’t really matter? They do and The Word tells us to take control of them.
How do you take captive every thought? What are you looking at? Listening to? Where are you hanging out? Is the living, powerful Word of God priority in your life? The more of the Living Word you put in, the more that Word will override anything that shouldn't be there.
The very next verse, 10:6 says “Our ears are fine tuned to echo (to hold or embrace) the voice of likeness that resonates within us.” (Mirror Bible) Philippians 4:8 says “live overwhelmed by God’s opinion of you! Acquaint yourselves with the revelation of righteousness, realize God’s likeness in you….Ponder how elevated you are in Christ.” “We who have discovered our perfect righteousness have our thoughts anchored in Christ. If you still see yourself as imperfect, God will reveal to you that you are wasting your time to imagine that you can become more accepted and righteous than what you already are! So then, let the message of grace (unearned, undeserved favor) set the pace.” (Phil 3:15-16)
Have your thoughts anchored in Christ and who you really are! Righteous! Ponder how elevated you are in Christ! Don’t allow the devil to take your thoughts and tell you that you are not righteous, that The Lord is mad at you, or that you have to work for Him to accept you. “We worship God in the CERTAINTY of our redeemed innocence and rejoice in the finished work of Jesus Christ!” (Phil 3:3 Mirror)
