For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jeremiah 29:11

I have read this verse many times throughout my life and have always thought “Yes, good plans for me, and I’m hopefully going to really get them in my future.” My interpretation was off.

Thoughts in the greek = my intention, my purpose, my plan and my imagination
Peace in the greek is = shalom-happy, friendly, welfare, perfect health, prosperity, peace, favor
Expected in the greek = expectancy, hope thing that He longs for

This living, alive, active, powerful verse is really saying:
For I know my intention, my purpose, and plan for you, saith the Lord, plans for you to be happy, in perfect health, have financial prosperity, favored, and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope that you can expect.

How awesome to know His plans and that He has totally provided them. My future is not just “hopefully” good. My future is AWESOME! I HAVE happiness, welfare, health, prosperity, peace, favor and I can expect them!

He is thinking of me! He has awesome plans for me! He loves me so much that He delivered up His Son for me (Rom 8:32) and Jesus took on His body, my sins (1 Peter 2:24) and paid for them. Now I’m righteous with God’s righteousness through Jesus and what a blessed future I have.
Claim and make that verse yours! Speak it! It’s alive and powerful and it’s done!

Many, many blessing,
