Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.

The Test Part 2

It was a warm morning and I got busy doing a few things before leaving for work, so just before leaving, I decided to spray a little of my essential oil perfume on to cover the sweat. I hurried into the car and that's when the thoughts came. “Oh no, I smell like a funeral parlor” That’s when The Lord, in His awesome way, talked to me. We had a conversation back and forth. Why did I think that? I remember. One day I sprayed a bit too much, ok, it was way too much on and it really lit up the room. “What’s that smell”? I knew I had to confess, so I came out with it, “It’s my rose perfume”.   I was told I smell like a funeral parlor. So I pictured it, a dim, sad room smelling like roses. I didn’t use that spray for a long time, until that morning.

Put it to the test! Is it true? No, roses are a beautiful flower that smell so good. The Lord put in my mind the thought of a man bringing a dozen roses to his love and what does she do? Smells them! She is so thankful for both the beauty and smell of the roses. Was there excellence in my funeral parlor thought? Was it worthy of praise? No and No.

God gave me a new picture, a new thought and I began to praise Him for His creation of roses and how beautiful they smell. Wow, I smell like a rose! My thoughts were completely turned around. The test worked! The living and powerful Word of God is so awesome!

That day I learned to use the test not only on my thoughts of other people and situations, but for the thoughts about myself, too. The Stark Beauty website gives so much insight on the Scriptures and what they say about our identity. Our identity in Christ is worthy of praise, excellent, true, honorable, lovely, right, pure and of good repute!

Be blessed,
