1 John 4:10:
herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

I know God takes great delight when we have children because He takes the opportunity to teach us parents a few life lessons through our children.

The Word of God teaches us to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  With that verse in mind, my husband and I have endeavored to begin teaching our little one who she is in Christ.  We have her repeat after mommy and daddy scriptures like "I am strong in the Lord and the power of His might", "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" and "I am bold as a lion".  Yesterday, we were having her say this with us and I said to her "say, I love you Jesus". I have had her say this several times but this time, the Holy Spirit, my WONDERFUL HELPER, came to my aid and said to me, "MORE IMPORTANTLY have her say, "JESUS LOVES ME!"

As soon as He spoke those words to my heart I saw a glimpse of something very special!  The MORE IMPORTANT fact is that Jesus loves my child, not that she loves Him. Because He loves her, in return, He has empowered her to love Him.  In fact, it is only because He loved her that she can love Him.  Let us focus on HIM, it is so much more beautiful when we focus on Him instead of focusing on, "I love Jesus, I serve Jesus, I honor Jesus, I give to Jesus, I work for Jesus".  NO, the more important point is that JESUS loves you, JESUS came to earth and served you through His obedience to the Father, JESUS honored you by giving His life as a ransom for you, JESUS chose to willingly give his life for you, and JESUS is working in you and through you.  Now, Isn't that so much more beautiful than what you do for Jesus?
