Genuine LoveWednesday, July 13, 2016
Don't just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
Lately, I've had a consuming thought. I've been on the look out for a new car, I've been talking about it, searching for it, and spending way too much time thinking about it!
I have definitely not been resting in the finished work of Christ (He's already provided all need-Phil 4:19).
This past week I kept catching myself interrupting what others were saying to talk about cars. It was almost like I was saying, "What I have to say is much more important than what you have to say!"
As Christians, we're called to LOVE, and not just pretend to love, but to genuinely love.
We're called to put others before ourselves.
We are called to accept the wonderful gifts God's provided (Health, prosperity, joy, peace, favor) and share those gifts with a hurting world. We're called not to live for ourselves, but for the Lord.
Today, Instead of talking about my new car, I am making a conscious decision to genuinely love others. To listen to what they have to say, rather than interrupting them with what I have to say.
We have so many opportunities every day to love others, today, take advantage of those opportunities.
