A Desire to PraiseTuesday, July 19, 2016
I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises. (NLT)
The past two days I've been reading over Psalms 34, it's one of my favorite chapters! It starts off with "I will praise the Lord at ALL TIMES."
Psalms 34 goes on to say that those who look to the Lord are radiant (V4)! It tells us that He listens to us and saves us from ALL of our troubles (V6), and that He gives us joy and surrounds and defends us (V7, V8). It says that He meets ALL of our needs (V9) and that we will lack NO GOOD thing (V10).
(Those are just some of the benefits of being a child of God listed in Psalms 34)
You see, we don't have to praise Him because we're told to, we can praise Him because we DESIRE to praise Him. When we know the truth of how GOOD our God is we can come to Him with a heart FULL of thanksgiving, praising Him because He is the God who has done exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20)!
He's the God who protects us, heals us, prospers us, and loves us enough to send us His very son!
What an awesome Father we have!
