Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;

I know the right people are reading this post. The people who are hungry for the Lord. The people who are ready to see miracles. The people who want to see the God we read about in action.
I'm excited for you! The Lord is at work, and His church will be built.
What's the key? {The Holy Spirit} The church started in Acts 2:4 when they were all filled with the Holy Spirit AND spoke in tongues.

For years I questioned speaking in tongues...and by question, I mean fought people over it.
I grew up in a Pentecostal church, but honestly, they rarely spoke about tongues. On the rare occasion that it was talked about, they didn't make it seem too important.
Well, many years later the Lord has given me a revelation on the topic.
I now speak in tongues nearly every day and encourage you to do the same!

In Luke 24:49 Jesus told His disciples to WAIT. He didn't want them leaving the city until they were filled with the Holy Spirit. They needed to wait for the POWER. We can just stop right there and examine most churches today and realize there is NO power. Why? They aren't filled with the Holy Spirit.

Luke 24:49 says, “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”

I urge you to wait, don't even leave where you are right now. Receive the Holy Spirit AND THEN go. GO with the POWER. The power to heal the sick, the power to raise the dead, the power to lead the lost to our Savior. We need to be different from every other religious person, power should be following us.

Let's look at someone who is an awesome example of this: Peter.
Prior to being filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter denied Christ 3 times. He walked with Jesus, he saw miracles, Peter even walked on water, and yet when people asked him he denied Christ. Can you relate to that?
The Holy Spirit makes you bold, once you're filled with the Holy Spirit it doesn't matter what other people think. I used to be afraid of what people thought of me, but now it only matters what Jesus thinks of me. I will preach the gospel to anyone who will listen.

Once Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit he had a boldness about him, there was no more denying Christ. Now he had Christ LIVING IN HIM. How amazing!

When you read Acts 4:8-13 Peter sounds like a totally different person! He had no fear! Prior to being filled with the Holy Spirit, he wouldn't even speak the name of Jesus to a young servant girl!

Acts 4:8-13 says, "Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people, if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health. “He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone. “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus"

The Holy Spirit was the difference maker for Peter. The Holy Spirit is also the difference maker for us!
Acts 2:1-4 says, "On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability."

These people were already born again. If they died before the day of Pentecost I have no doubt they would have been with Jesus in Heaven. The infilling of the Holy Spirit is a separate experience from being born again. I personally wasn't convinced of this until I read Acts 19:1-6. Paul asked the believers if they had received the Holy Spirit. Paul knew this was crucial in their walk with Christ. The Holy Spirit is the game changer. You can go from powerless religion to boldness!

Acts 19:1-6 says, "It happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus, and found some disciples. He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said to him, “No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” And they said, “Into John’s baptism.” Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying."

Do you have to speak in tongues when you're filled with the Holy Spirit? it's an awesome gift, why reject it?

Jude 1:20-21 says, "But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!"

How awesome! When you pray in tongues you're praying perfect prayers. It's your personal prayer language to the God of the universe. I've made it through so many difficult seasons by praying in tongues, by building myself up through the power of God.

So many things changed in my life after being filled with the Holy Spirit. I always knew the Lord called me to speak, but I was so afraid to do it. Now that I'm filled with the Holy Spirit I enjoy public speaking! Before being filled with the Holy Spirit I didn't understand so many things in scripture. I was using man's wisdom rather than God's wisdom. Now that I'm filled with the Holy Spirit I see so many things in a new light. It's crazy to me how I missed them prior to being filled. I understand divine health, I understand righteousness, I understand following Christ.

Friends, if you are not filled with the Holy Spirit {A separate experience from being born again} I want you to know there is more. There is so much more.

Your life is about to change forever, and I guarantee you it will be AWESOME.

I moved down to South Carolina to go to Bible College. Once I got here the Lord spoke to me and told me which church to go to. Every time I walk into that church I am changed. Every single person there speaks in tongues, it is like I'm walking into the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is tangible there. Sometimes I think the Lord didn't bring me here to go to Bible College, but to go to a church that exemplifies Christ. The power is in that church, we are being taught the word of God and we are being prepared for battle. Every Sunday I leave church ready to go out and bring the message of truth to a lost world. The Holy Spirit is the difference maker in my church. The Holy Spirit is the difference maker in my life.

Get ready to receive the power.

With love,

  1. Through you, I have learned that I am already healed, and I feel so liberated. I am born again, and simply waiting for the healing to manifest physically, since I know that the illness is a lie. I have never heard of speaking in tongues or of the holy spirit as separate from being born again. Is this necessary in order to fully command and receive divine healing? How do I receive the holy spirit in? I am kind of scared to speak in tongues, and I don't know where to start.
