I'm sure you're all familiar with Peter's instance of walking on water.  Prior to this Peter had seen Christ's power; he'd already seen Jesus feed 5,000, he'd seen miracles, he'd seen his boat filled with fish. Peter had no reason to doubt the Lord.

He stepped out of that boat. First off, he deserves some serious credit for that! How many of us have stepped out of the boat? {The first step's the hardest, but well worth it}

Do you have a big decision you have to make? Step out of the boat, trust that the Lord has a plan for your life, because He does!

Peter was doing pretty well for a second, he was walking on water in the middle of a storm! Pretty awesome if you ask me. If you just stop there and think about that it is amazing! We could be going through awful storms, but as long as we're looking at Jesus we can walk right through it... And we'll have an awesome story to tell at the end of it!

The problem: Peter took his eyes off Jesus, he lost focus and sank.

So what do we do? Keep focused. Keep looking at Jesus. Keep fighting the good fight. It is hard, but it is well worth it. At the end of the storm, you get to tell the world how good our God is, how you kept your eyes on Him and even though disaster was all around you, it didn't touch you!

{Psalm 91:7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.}

Lesson of the day: Keep your eyes on Jesus, you won't sink.

Peters story doesn't stop here.  #checkoutpart3
